WELCOME! I’m Photographer, Motivational Speaker, and Mentor Karen Christensen, founder and owner of  The Legacy Boutique, a location-based photography studio that supports the improved Self-Esteem and Financial Self-Sustainability of Women through a percentage of monetary and talent donations, as well as our developing Workshops and Mentorship Program.

WHAT IS THE LEGACY BOUTIQUE COLLECTIVE?

Excited you asked! The Legacy Boutique is a growing Collective for likeminded women Artists, Solopreneurs, Coaches, and Activists — all banding together to grow our businesses, our advocacy, and our Legacies through cross marketing, events/workshops, and the blogging community.

WHAT INSPIRED THE LEGACY BOUTIQUE?

My location-based Photography and Women’s Empowerment studio, and this VIP Women’s Collective, are named in honor of my beloved friend, Paula, who lost her battle with Leukemia in 2004. Her sudden passing, and my immediate feelings of reverence for her sweet soul, inspired me to make some dramatic changes in my personal and professional life. Trading my work as a TV/FILM actress, for my self-esteem building Art and women’s advocacy mission, I am now Living A Life I Love. I want to share my journey, my failures and my successes, to help other women leave Legacies as influential as Paula’s legacy continues to be for me.

WHY SHOULD I BELONG to THE LEGACY BOUTIQUE COLLECTIVE?

Invite-only members of our exclusive Legacy Boutique Collective, band with other likeminded women professionals who believe “you only get what you give” and there is “power in numbers.”  If you seek Support, Community, Accountability n’ Action Partners, and Collaborations than this is the spot for you! Looking to be Featured in Interviews, Guest Articles, Panel Discussions, Workshops, Lectures, and more — than this is the opportunity for you to grow your services and your advocacy passions! Together we can help eradicate illiteracy, disease, chaos, extremism, violence, poverty, self-loathing, and self-injury when we give to our sisters locally and internationally through our percentage of monetary and talent donations. Simultaneously, as we support other local women-run businesses we generate a flow of new opportunities for ourselves and our own endeavors. Members of our Collective are not only the Top in their fields, they are inspired and inspiring women to be around, with warm spirits and focused follow through.

PHOTOGRAPHY IS BUT ONE VEHICLE:

There are few jobs in the world as blessed and as fun as mine — shooting Weddings, Heirloom Portraits, Headshots, and Documentary photography is a dream. But, for me, photography is no more than vehicle to help empower women. And it is but one of the vehicles that I use. Writing, Motivational Speaking, Producing, Networking, Traveling, Volunteering — these are all other equally powerful modes of my women’s empowerment transportation.

THIS IS WHO I AM. WHO ARE YOU?

Photography and Mentorship is what I do, but it’s not all of who I am. This collective, along with my monetary and talent donations to women-focused NGOs, is really Who I Am. Ultimately, the Legacy I hope to leave behind is as much based on my Activism as it is on my photographic Art. So let’s get working together! Tell us Who YOU Are and What YOUR Legacy Is.

Again, to keep the Collective mutually beneficial for all the women involved, I can only accept one woman for each industry or service {unless the women are working in different states and agree there is no conflict of interest}. We will start a waiting list for those women whose position is already filled but who want to be notified of the first available opening.
