“The World will be saved by the Western Woman.” ~ The Dalai Lama
If you’re anything like I was in my early twenties, than at one time or another you’ve wasted countless hours {even days, months, dare I say — years} hating yourself, playing small, living in fear, being broke, and yearning for the life you were supposed to have had; waiting for the rescue who was supposed to have come. And while others see you as the life of the party, the one that lights up a room with your energy and your generosity, in private, you’ve caught yourself feeling more of a Debbie Downer than anything else. More days than not, you’ve felt like one-big-fat-fraud.
Ladies, this shiznit ain’t pretty.
The Good News? It doesn’t have to be this way.
If not for the empowered works of the women below, I may not be living the life I am today. Sure, it’s not always perfect. I’ll still hit the snooze button and skip out on morning meditations every once in while, or eat chocolate for breakfast, or throw myself into a big old Pity Party when work opportunities cough up my painstakingly annoying Fear of Success. But thanks in HUGE part to these women, many of whom have been my personal mentors and colleagues, the land of my thirties has been equipped with better tools in the toolkit and record fast bounce back times when the going gets tough.
So if you need a boost — support and shop these Things I Love and Trust, from women I love and trust. {And, “yes,” I’m a proud affiliate to these ladies. Why? Because they changed my life and I KNOW they will change yours.}
It’s time to love yourself and play with the Big Girls.
